General information

Erasmus

is a programme for the University, its students, and its employees. It supports international cooperation in higher education, allows students to travel abroad for part of their study and practice, promotes the mobility of University staff, and creates numerous opportunities for the University to participate in projects with foreign partners. Poland has been participating in the EU’s flagship education and training programme since 1998.

In the years 1995-2006, Erasmus was a part of the Socrates programme. In 2007, it became a part of the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme and expanded to cover new areas, such as student placement in enterprises, University staff training, and teaching for enterprise staff. Since 2014, the programme has been known as Erasmus+. The main aim of Erasmus+ is to improve the quality and attractiveness of vocational education and facilitate international cooperation and exchanges in education.

The University of Bialystok has been participating in the Erasmus Programme since 1999. During those years, we have expanded the list of our partner institutions to over 200 universities from 27 countries within the Erasmus+ KA 103. The University currently has 30 agreements with 17 countries within the Erasmus+ KA 107. We have hosted over 700 incoming students and over 1,300 of our students have studied abroad.
